Do you need a 4x4 to get to the hiking trail? Will be in area next week with family, looking for a picnic place off the beaten path so to speak.

To get to main trailhead, yes. There is a parking area though at the old lumber mill, where the tracks cross the road. That will add about 1/2 mile one way to the trail length. Up to that …
To get to main trailhead, yes. There is a parking area though at the old lumber mill, where the tracks cross the road. That will add about 1/2 mile one way to the trail length. Up to that point, will still be bumpy, but 4x4 isn't required.
