Several Australians holidaying in Fiji are in critical condition after drinking alcohol that was believed to be poisoned.

A group of Australian tourists are in critical condition in hospital in Fiji after what authorities say is suspected alcohol poisoning.

The suspected alcohol poisoning incident comes after the death of six tourists in Vang Vieng in Laos, including a 28-year-old British Simone White. Methanol is mostly used to make solvents, pesticides, paint thinners, and alternative fuels.
