Chauncy Glover died accidentally after a mix of the chemical chlorethane and methamphetamine were found in the KCAL anchor's system, the medical examiner says.

Chauncy Glover has been in my thoughts this week, even before yesterday's news that his death in November had been ruled accidental. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner released a statement Wednesday saying that the former anchor with Houston's ABC 13 who joined Los Angeles' KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV in 2023 died from "acute intoxication by the combined effects of chloroethane and methamphetamine.

Glover, best known for his work at KCAL/CBS Los Angeles and ABC station KTRK in Houston, died on Nov. 5, 2024. In a statement at the time, Glover's family remembered the Emmy-winning journalist as a "beacon of light" and a "true hero."
