A train traveling from Washington, D.C. to St. Albans, Vt. struck a pedestrian at about 4:10 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Street railroad crossing.

SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - We have breaking news out of South Deerfield where a police presence has been spotted on Pleasant Street. The scene is right near Deerfield Elementary School right near the train tracks where an Amtrak train appears to have stopped abruptly.

The incident occurred a little before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on the 4900 block of Connecticut Street, just off of South Kingshighway Boulevard. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the St.
