MLS has announced its North American cup competition participation for 2025 and 2026, with an increase in teams featuring in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and a decrease in Leagues Cup participation.

As part of the qualification criteria for official North American cup competitions during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, the 2025 US Open Cup will feature 16 MLS teams and 10 MLS NEXT Pro teams.
