Tech giant Apple (AAPL) is expected to face an antitrust fine in France as the country’s competition authority nears a decision on its app

France is probably going to issue an antitrust fine against Apple in March, as the country's consumer watchdog gears up to rule on whether Apple abused its position over App Tracking Transparency.

Per a new report, the iPhone privacy feature App Tracking Transparency could be banned in France after a ruling next month.

Apple is facing an antitrust fine as the French regulator prepares to rule next month on the company’s privacy control tool, reports Reuters, quoting two unnamed “people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Now, Apple is facing a legal challenge in France, as the French human rights NGO, Ligue des droits de l’Homme, has filed a lawsuit against Apple. The lawsuit filed in France accuses Apple of using Siri’s recording for deceptive marketing practices and violating user privacy by illegally collecting their personal data.

Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) privacy tool, which allows iPhone users to decide what apps can track their activity, has reportedly fallen under the scope of antitrust regulators in France, according to Reuters.
