Most giant sequoias live in California’s Sierra Nevada, a mountain range wedged between Fresno, Lake Tahoe, and the Death Valley desert. Now, the iconic trees can also be found in Detroit.
Two giant pandas from China arrived at Dulles International Airport Tuesday morning and transported to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in D.C. It’s beary good news for panda fans in the D.C. area.
The school, which has roughly 500 students in grades K-12, was among those selected to receive a seedling for a giant sequoia that was grown with seeds flown on NASA’s Artemis I Mission in 2022.
