Preliminary information indicates that the incident happened just before 1 a.m. at a fueling station in the 7700 block of Highway 222 in Stanton.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the death of a man early Sunday morning following an interaction with deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The 33-year-old man had already stabbed one person at the Pilot and authorities believe he stabbed himself before being shot by a deputy, the TBI said.
