Ford hasn't yet formally told the world exactly when the next-generation F-150 pickup truck will be arriving, but if there's one certainty in the car world, it's that a new F-Series is inevitable. That said, a recent report from Crain’s Detroit Business tells us it’s going to be a delayed arrival.

The Ford F-Series has been the top seller for decades, but the current turmoil in the industry has the automaker delaying the next F-150 by at least a year.

Ford Motor Co. has told suppliers it will delay the launch of its new model F-150 pickup, a perennial top-seller for the automaker and golden goose for a multitude of parts makers. Ford was expected to roll out the 15th generation of its traditional gas/hybrid pickup truck in 2027.

Ford will delay production of the next generation F-150 by one year, continuing to produce the current model until April 2028.

The Ford F-150 is a sales juggernaut, making it the automaker’s most important model and one that it relies on for consistent revenue generation. As such, Ford has rolled out timely updates for the truck,
