Former PlayStation exec Shuhei Yoshida has admitted porting PlayStation-exclusive games to PC is "almost like printing

Porting to PC is cost-effective for Sony, providing additional income to invest in new titles amid rising game development costs. In the past few years, Sony has been ramping up its PlayStation first-party games production on PC, with some games even releasing simultaneously on PlayStation devices.

"So, it’s almost like printing money and that helps us to invest in new titles now that the cost of games has increased"

Former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida has commented on Microsoft's relatively new strategy whereby it launches some of its first-party games on rival platforms, including PS5.
