Crews are removing two steel pipes that fell off a truck Tuesday evening on the outbound side of the Kennedy Expressway near Lake Street.

Illinois State Police said the incident happened in the northbound lanes of I-90 near Lake Street. A semi-truck carrying steel pipes hit the Lake Street bridge, causing some of the pipes to fall onto the expressway and hit two other cars.

Two motorists were injured after steel pipes fell off a semi and onto the Kennedy Expressway on Tuesday night.
