Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah soared to the top of the ICC Men's Test Player Rankings among bowlers after getting eight wickets, including a first innings five-wicket haul during a 295-run win against Australia at Perth's Optus Stadium.

India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has regained the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings after leading his team to a resounding 295-run victory over Australia in the first match of their WTC series in Perth.

Bumrah picked eight wickets, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings, and claimed Player of the Match honours in Perth, where he was leading India in Rohit Sharma’s absence.

Bumrah’s spellbinding hauls of five for 30 and three for 42 helped him overtake Australia seamer Josh Hazlewood and South Africa's Kagiso Rabada to reach a career-best 883 rating points, the highest rating points tally ever by an India seam bowler.
