Microsoft has blocked PC users from accessing the Windows 11 24H2 update if they have any games from developer Ubisoft installed.

Microsoft has discovered that certain Ubisoft games are crashing after users install the Windows 11 24H2 update. Affected games include well-known titles like Assassin’s Creed, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Microsoft has stopped offering updates to Windows 11 version 24H2 on PCs that have certain Ubisoft games installed, Bleeping Computer reports. The company made the move after complaints that Star Wars Outlaws and games in the Assassin’s Creed series were crashing after installing the new Windows update.

Microsoft has acknowledged that its latest major Windows update has stopped certain Ubisoft games from working. Windows 11 version 24H2, which is the the third major update to Windows 11 since the operating system was released three years ago, has been rolling out throughout the month.
