The Ole Miss Rebels completed their first weekend sweep after defeating Eastern Kentucky handedly in all three meetings this weekend, and they have earned their first Top 25 ranking as a result.

(WTVA) — Mississippi State and Ole Miss baseball swept their respective series over the weekend. MSU beat Missouri State 6-4 on Sunday, Feb. 23 and Ole Miss beat Eastern Kentucky 9-3.

By Ole Miss Sports Hunter Elliott tied his career high with 10 strikeouts on Friday afternoon as Ole Miss defeated Eastern Kentucky 8-0 at Oxford-University Stadium. The Rebel left-hander pitched six innings of shutout baseball in the opening game of this three-game series.

Ole Miss baseball stayed hot in its first series at Swayze Field. The Rebels (6-1) swept Eastern Kentucky (0-7) in a three-game series in Oxford. None of the games were close. Ole Miss beat EKU 8-0, 9-4 and 9-3.

The Ole Miss Rebels gained a sweep of the Eastern Kentucky Colonels over the weekend, and solid pitching was a big reason why.
