Corrections officials have halted all outside visits to New York state prisons in the face of a growing jail guard strike and sporadic inmate unrest — as riots erupted at another upstate prison early Thursday morning.

Correction officers retreated from inmate dorms at Riverview Correctional Facility in St. Lawrence County early Thursday during an uprising during strikes.

As NY state prison guards are on strike​, all visitations are canceled at facilities statewide, the Department of Corrections says.

The indictment alleges the officers beat the shackled Robert Brooks, 39, twice on the way to Marcy Correctional Facility, then again in an infirmary as he showed “minimal resistance.”
