Amazon Web Services, the omnipresent cloud platform that runs large parts of the internet, has launched a new service that may leave some onlookers scratching their heads in confusion—at least initially. The tech giant has announced the launch of physical portals where you can go to upload your data into its massive digital repository.

Uploading data to a cloud service can be time-consuming and may carry security risks. Amazon says its new data sites can fix that.

Amazon Web Services, Amazon's cloud computing business, has opened physical locations where customers can upload their data.

Invest 2024 in Las Vegas on Sunday, Amazon introduced their new Data Transfer Terminals that would allow customers to physically visit the locations and manually upload their data to the cloud service.
