Doing the same swap with an Android device is more akin to starting three-quarters fresh. After one or two Android phones, you learn to bake in an extra hour of rapid-fire logging in to all your apps. Password managers, or just using a Google account as your authentication, are a godsend.

The change should help make going from one Android phone to another more like upgrading an iPhone. Apple users who move from one iPhone to another are used to having everything from email accounts to app credentials transfer to the new phone, but it hasn’t always been so seamless for Android users.

Not everyone buys a new phone every year, or reviews a multitude of handsets like we do, but when you do, the Android transfer process can be quite annoying. Especially when you have to log back into the legion of apps that were just installed on your new device.
