EXCLUSIVE: Two months before the start of a sex trafficking trial that could see the much accused Sean “Diddy” Combs behind bars for the rest of his life, one of the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ rapper’s top lawyers wants out of the case.

One of Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyers filed a motion to withdraw from the mogul's defense team. Anthony Ricco did not provide a reason for his request, in which he wrote, "under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs," according to an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Anthony L. Ricco, who is representing the rapper in his federal criminal case, filed a motion to withdraw on Friday.
