Indian Mahindra and Mahindra on Tuesday said it is in talks to resolve a dispute with the country's biggest airline IndiGo which has filed a court challenge against the use of its call sign "6e" in the automaker's new electric vehicle offering.

IndiGo has filed a trademark infringement suit against Mahindra Electric Automobile, objecting to the latter naming its upcoming EV as BE 6e as "6E" is the airline's flight code. Mahindra launched the electric car on Nov 26,

Mahindra has issued a statement addressing the matter and is in talks with IndiGo to find an amicable solution.

IndiGo has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Mahindra in the Delhi High Court over the use of ‘6e’ in the name of the carmaker’s latest electric SUV.

Indigo airline’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation, has filed a lawsuit against Mahindra and Mahindra’s subsidiary brand, Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited (MEAL) over the use of ‘6E’ in its newly launched SUVs.

Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited launched the first of their electric origin vehicles on November 26 in the form of BE 6e and XEV 9e.

Mahindra launched the BE 6e coupe electric SUV, along with XEV 9e last week at a starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Mahindra BE 6E, part of the company’s electric vehicle lineup, is slated for launch in February 2025.
