To deal with runaway production, state legislators are proposing two bills that would not only raise the cap for California's film and TV tax credit program but also expand eligibility for productions.

California lawmakers plan to make the state’s film and TV incentive more lucrative for individual productions, while doubling the overall size of the program. At a press conference on Wednesday, lawmakers announced two companion bills — AB 1138 and SB 630 — to make the state’s program more competitive with other states.

The California State Legislature has acknowledged that money alone may not be enough to entice production back to the state, introducing a pair of bills Wednesday aimed at bolstering Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan to expand the state’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program.

The Child Tax Credit (CTC) is a crucial financial benefit for families in the United States, designed to reduce tax liability and potentially offer refunds.

It’s called the Earned Income Tax Credit. According to the IRS, one in five eligible taxpayers in North Carolina do not claim this credit worth up to $7,830 dollars. This is a tax break aimed at helping working Americans with a low-to-moderate income.
