As for Harry choosing Ginny over Cho - I don't think it's so much that Ginny is better than Cho, it's that she is better for Harry. Cho and Ginny require different things from a relationship, and Harry is better at giving Ginny what she needs than he is with Cho. Harry also gets things out of a relationship with Ginny that he couldn't get from Cho.
