In the north of the country, it would be much more common to have the 儿 appended to certain words, but in the south of the country, it's often not used.

2015年3月16日 · I'd say all the usage of "一下(儿)" in the examples given in the question are legit. My dictionary (Modern Chinese Dictionary came with Mac OS X) doesn't say any there is any special cases for the usage of 一下 after a verb. And my personal experience as a native speaker suggests the same.

2015年5月11日 · Most native Chinese will resort "儿" sound to Beijing dialect. The tail sound "儿" didn't add any additional meaning to the meaning in most cases. With or without a "儿" only differs in the slight Emotion variations towards the listeners, which is quite subjective.
