I've got a 8.5" Ballistic Advantage barrel with a pistol gas tube and an Odin Works adjustable gas block. Went to set up the gas block for it's first batch of testing and looked at Odin Works website for the best practice on the part.

My goal to minimize excess gas going back into the upper and lower, reduce felt recoil and stress on the parts, and have the empties go out about 3-4' upon ejection has been to adjust the gas block that the firearm functions correctly, including locking back after the last round is fired.

2013年10月6日 · If your gas port isn't oversized, then you shouldn't need an adjustable gas block for the 300 BLK. It is designed to cycle 200+ grainers subsonic and not be over-pressured with the supers (hence why they are SAAMI spec'ed at .223 pressure ratings, not 5.56). AA1680 is the magic powder to do this for subs.

2015年10月21日 · Before my adjustable gas block the amount of gas to the face was like running a full auto short barreled saw. Ammonia to the face, eye watering, etc. With the gas block I don't see any need to for gas vents, rtv, fancy charging handle mods, etc. It's very tolerable and not really noticeable for me anymore.

2015年3月17日 · A 16" rifle isn't "crazy." 300 Blackout does great with short barrels, but 16" barrels aren't a "problem" as such. The real issue with a 16" barrel in 300 Blackout is one of gas port position. Because all the powder is burned within 8-9" of barrel length, you probably want a pistol-length gas system, even with a 16" barrel.
