Import 3D AutoCAD model into Revit
Sep 19, 2013 · To get an AutoCAD 3D model into revit so it behaves properly with floor plans and section cuts, I use the Massing & Site tab, then pick In Place Mass. I then Link the AutoCAD model. This way, it comes into the proper spot when using Origin to Origin if your Revit and AutoCAD models have the same coordinate system.

Used correctly Revit can help boost your productivity. I am also surprised that your workplace standards are not geared to production exclusively in Revit.

Sep 19, 2014 · In revit when you want to export to CAD you can choose how the lines want to read based on the layering system in AutoCAD. there is an option in that menu in Revit that lets you choose a different Export Layer File (txt) file than what is offered out of the box e.g. exportlayers-dwg-AIA.txt. I dont know where to get it from or how to create it.
