Sudafed for Clogged Ear? What Is the Best Decongestant?
2018年10月18日 · I asked the pharmacist what was best to take for this and he said Sudafed. I asked him what were the side effects. He said it would keep me from sleeping because it will "excite me", as it will alert me. So I know it is a high chance this will spike the hell out of my tinnitus, are there any other ways to unclog the ear?

Is it better to take a medication like Mucinex or Sudafed, or should I try to ride this out without any mediation. I'm not sure what is worse, taking medication or taking the risk and having my plugged ears cause a spike in my tinnitus. Thank you!

2013年10月21日 · If yours is due to a fullness in your ears you might try getting some decongestant that contains pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (this is a highly effective means of getting rid of fluid in the eustacian tubes) - you may have to ask for it over the counter as it is not the type that you buy off the shelf.

My doctor has always recommended taking Mucinex (active ingredient guaifenesin) along with the pseudoephedrine decongestant. The reason is because Mucinex loosens up any mucus, thus allowing it to drain.
