2022年10月2日 · Caving, climbing, biking, and hiking all use specialized equipment to ensure safety and easy of travel. You would never bike without a helmet and of course the bike. You wouldn't hike without boots and a backpack with water.. You wouldn't climb without safety gear and ropes. Same with caving.

Caving can be incredibly fun and no more exerting than a mid level hike or even an easy one, there are walkable caves we've brought literal toddlers into completely safe with proper gear and all. If its still not for u regardless thats fine, Im just saying the internet loves to make it seem much more dangerous than it actually is.

2023年2月8日 · The BMS long frame micro rack is pretty much the go-to micro rack in the eastern US. I’d avoid the short frame version because it is very difficult to use with stiff 11mm, especially when dirty, but the long frame handles the traditional range of caving rope (9-11mm) very well.

2023年3月11日 · Caving suits are made of polyamide (PA 6.6) fabric, which is a strong type of plastic. It's pretty strong and very abrasion resistant. For reference, that's the same kind of plastic machine elements such as gears are made out of when they don't need to be steel.

2023年5月31日 · I’m heading out for my first multi day caving trip and I definitely need to another pair or 2 of pants to avoid having to put a cold, wet pair back on. I’m a super short and slim female which can make it harder to find caving clothes that actually fit. My current go to pants are the Kuhl freeflex pants. Any other recommendations?

The vast majority of caving in the US does not require any air monitoring equipment. In the few regions where bad air (usually due to CO2 settling) is a concern, the local cavers will communicate to new/prospective cavers if any equipment is necessary.
