My ENT Doctor recently cleaned out my right ear today (Wednesday the 29th) which has fungus and which caused a severe ear ache ....haven’t had ear aches since I was a child.

2016年1月24日 · There are 2 types of fungus, one of which is not visible under an otoscope and one which has physical signs. I don’t know which one I had. He didn’t want to use an antibiotic or steroid because they change the ph of the ear and decrease the good bacteria you need. He thinks there is a general overuse of antibiotics …..I happen to agree.

Has the ENT mentioned if your eardrum is ruptured or perforated? Can you use cotton in your ear at night to absorb some of the moisture?

The infection I had was antibiotic-resistant, but this did nothing to help either. A fungus ball was a consideration as well. So, the surgery. The doctor really cleared out my sinuses.

New MAI diagnosis with also a fungal infection
2019年5月21日 · The cultures are positive for M.avium-intracellulare group and Aspergillus terreus, which is a not so common fungus also found in dust and dirt. I have a follow-up appt with the pulmonologist and he has referred me to the infectious disease doctor for the fungus infection.
