2008年11月25日 · Gardenias basically want heat and humidity. They also need acidic conditions....basically everything Southern California gardens are lacking with our alkali soils and tap water. I have 10 grafted Gardenias of assorted varieties thriving in my garden. They are in full sun and are planted in well amended beds.

They were planted on the north side of a garage, with a partial overhang of oleanders from an adjacent property. The area was only wide enough for a paved walkway and the gardenias which were planted up against the garage.

2007年10月22日 · You shouldn't have any problems in Texas with gardenias. I'm in zone 7b and there are gardenia bushes everywhere. I even kept one in a pot outside against a sunny wall last winter and it made it fine. I'll be moving to the Houston area next year and will definately be planting a gardenia bush.

Up to now, I only applied to roses, but this spring I did gardenias, camellias and azaleas and notice great progress on those plants.
