Devoxx (formerly named JavaPolis) is a developers community conference series created in 2001 by Stephan Janssen, [1] organized by the Belgian Java User Group (BeJUG). The conference takes place every year in Belgium around October or November. [2] .

JavaPolis is an annual conference organized by the Belgium Java User Group (BeJUG). It takes place in a large cinema complex in Antwerp, Belgium during the second week of December. For five days, about 100 speakers talk about Java APIs, frameworks, products, etc.

2007年12月15日 · Last three days I have been to JavaPolis 2007 in Antwerp. It was the first time that I went to this conference and I really liked it. Great things about it are it’s location and, most of all, it’s speakers. The location is a cinema. Slides and demo’s are shown on huge screens that are normally used to show blockbusters.

The university sessions were three-hour in-depth technical presentations. The fifty-minute conference sessions were less intensive but sometimes also less boring.
