May 13, 2022 · I believe in a previous poll, Mauritius was favored but I still don't understand why. I've tasted Mauritius and Brewster many times and my personal preference is Brewster because of the smell and wonderful Lychee/rose flavor and sweet sweet flesh. Mauritius is also a great fruit but slightly less sweet and lacks the smell and Lychee/rose taste.

I would love to see an honest comparison of the pros and cons between the 'Sweetheart' lychee and the 'Mauritius' lychee. Logged. The trick is to have the tree enter the cooler months in a state of dormancy so that the next wave of emerging buds develop into bloom spikes, providing that the temperatures are at or below 68 degrees F (20 degrees C).

Jun 24, 2013 · A bit about it: The lychee is GREEN with a red blush. It is the kind that EXPLODES with juice when you open it. it was SWEET with NO astringency whatsoever. ok, maybe a tiny, tiny bit. But i didn't pay attention to that. i naturally saved every seed Also, the skin was a bit on the tough side and was very rough, with lots of projections.

Sep 2, 2023 · Re: Lychee harvest. The Bruster lychee fruit I recieved from Kaz near Fullerton about a week a go were delicious and very juicy. About 30-40% of the fruit had a chicken seed or a very small seed. 40-45% of the fruit had the standard large seed. The remainder were somewhere inbetween with a medium seed.
