Artificial Pokemon could be squeezed into whatever mold GF wanted, but logically, it would be a counter to Fairy, the same way that Fairy exists to counter Dragon and Dark exists to counter Ghost/Psychic.

Moreover, they only have the Normal type, as were Jigglypuff or Snubull before the Fairy type arrived, so the re-typing would make quite a lot of sense.
