2018年1月2日 · My kitchen-sink drain pipe is leaking in my 50-year-old house. The pipe drains a two-bowl sink, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. It is 1.5" nominal copper and runs for about seven feet inside a wall. It seems that it passes through 2" holes through the studs in the wall. I'm not inclined to buy copper to replace it.

2024年3月20日 · Here's the same drain pipe in the tee, with a 45 in the vent, which is parallel to the long side of the tub. It looks like a 2x6 wall. I do have a non-tile wall in a bedroom behind the tub, i.e. I think I could cut through buttonboard from the bedroom to get to this 45.

The drain pipe sticking out of the wall is corroded to the point the pipe is disintegrating and the threaded end of the pipe is breaking off. See photos. I tried to unscrew the pipe to no avail. 2012年12月18日 · In the process we noticed the galvanized piping was slightly sloped the wrong way (both in the wall and after the 90 into the room). We over corrected of course, so the pipe coming out of the wall is sloped upward into the room, which caused a little more work getting the sink drain hooked up, but all done now. Thanks again for the help!
