Sayyid Husayn was an Afghan Saqqawist politician who served as Minister of Defence from January to March 1929. He was appointed by Habibullāh Kalakāni immediately following the capture of Kabul in January 1929 during the Afghan Civil War. [2]

The Husaynids (Arabic: بنو حسين, romanized: Banū Ḥusayn) are a branch of the Alids who are descendants of Husayn ibn Ali, a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Along with the Hasanids, they form the two main branches of the ashrāf.
