2022年1月13日 · TL;DR: The Sony WH-XM3s are a great pickup only if they are on sale in 2021. If the XM4s are only a few 20-30 more, I do recommend spend a bit more for those. Very happy with my XM3s in 2021. A few weeks ago, I managed to get my hands on the Sony WH-1000XM3 on sale. Before that I was researching what ANC headphones to buy for travelling.

2019年1月5日 · Finally, a measured review of the XM3. I completely agree with your assessment of its sound quality. Get the XM3 for ANC; on a cross-country flight, it's completely worth the price. Sony got a lot of things right with this headset, including the ergonomics, but they apparently felt the need to compete with a consumer sound profile.

2020年8月12日 · Is it worth the upgrade from the XM3, for £120/$200 more (as the XM3 price has dropped). Probably not, when it comes to just sound quality or Active Noise Cancelling. However, I think the XM4 will be more future proof and will receive more updates than the XM3, hopefully with further improvements of the ANC, so in that respect, a great purchase.

2022年6月1日 · I would advise to stay with the xm3. The xm5 have a software issue, where the full anc is only activated if external loudness passes a certain threshold. That is in my estimation quite high, so most of the time you will be stuck on "normal" mode, and here, the xm3 will cancel up to twice as much noise as the xm5. I have used xm3,4,5 in the past.

The XM4 offers multipoint connecting, the auto pause sensor and the ability to use LDAC and the Sony Headphones app EQ simultaneously. IMO the XM3 sound slightly bassier than the XM4 , but other than that there is not much difference in their sound.

But if I click play on anything (YouTube, Spotify etc) there's no audio and the video wont won't even play, it's just stuck loading. Even if I turn off the headphones.
