On Saturday April 26, 2025 at 7:30 PM, The Choristers will present the premiere of its first commission: Even The Grass Must Sing by Kile Smith. The Choristers commissioned three-time Grammy-nominated Kile Smith to compose an 18-20 minute work with choir divisi (SSAATTBB) accompanied by a chamber orchestra.

The Choristers began in 1977 with a group of eight Ursinus College graduates including The Choristers’ Artistic Director, David Spitko. By the following year, the choir had doubled in size and over the years grew to 70 voices. I am the founding Artistic Director of The Choristers. Given our repertoire and quality of performance, we are the premier concert choir in Montgomery County and one of the best in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Staff - The Choristers
The Choristers welcomes Astghik “Astrik” Sakanyan as its Collaborative Pianist – joining the artistic staff of the choir in spring 2021. Astrik started her piano career at Yerevan’s Sayat Nova School of Music in Armenia.
