Cypress is a common name for various coniferous trees or shrubs from the Cupressus genus of the Cupressaceae family, typically found in warm-temperate and subtropical regions of Asia, Europe, and North America. [1] Cypress trees typically reach heights of up to 25 metres (82 ft) and exhibit a pyramidal form, particularly in their youth.

Cypresses is a late 19th-century painting by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh painted around June 1889. [1] Done in oil on canvas, the painting depicts a pair of cypress trees in the French countryside. The work is currently on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. [2]

Cupressaceae or the cypress family is a family of conifers. The family includes 27–30 genera (17 monotypic), which include the junipers and redwoods, with about 130–140 species in total. They are monoecious, subdioecious or (rarely) dioecious trees and shrubs up to 116 m (381 ft) tall.
