Heat of combustion - Wikipedia
The heating value (or energy value or calorific value) of a substance, usually a fuel or food (see food energy), is the amount of heat released during the combustion of a specified amount of it. The calorific value is the total energy released as heat when a substance undergoes complete combustion with oxygen under standard conditions .

High and Low Heat Values - The Engineering ToolBox
The gross or high heating value is the amount of heat produced by the complete combustion of a unit quantity of fuel. In thermodynamics, the term standard heat of combustion corresponds to Gross heating value. See Heat of combustion for examples of calculation of gross heating values from standard heat of formation of substances.
Fuels - Higher and Lower Calorific Values - The Engineering ToolBox
Higher and lower calorific values (heating values) for fuels like coke, oil, wood, hydrogen and others. Energy content or calorific value is the same as the heat of combustion , and can be calculated from thermodynamical values, or measured in a suitable apparatus:
HHV vs. LHV - What's the Difference? - This vs. That
HHV (Higher Heating Value) and LHV (Lower Heating Value) are two measures used to quantify the energy content of a fuel. The main difference between the two lies in the treatment of the water vapor produced during the combustion process.
The higher heating value (also known as gross calorific value or gross energy) of a fuel is defined as the amount of heat released by a specified quantity (initially at 25°C) once it is combusted and the products have returned to a temperature of 25°C, which takes into account the latent heat of vaporization of water in the combustion products.

Heating Value - Corrosionpedia
2024年7月19日 · What Does Heating Value Mean? Heating value is the amount of heat obtained when fuel or some other substance of a specific unit quantity is combusted. There are two types of heating values: The lower heating value (net) is the difference between combustion and latent heat of vaporization of the water vapors formed from combustion.
