2024年12月6日 · IMHO, get what appeals to you. As far as having any reliability issues the armorers at the CMP will make things right. While there is certainly appeal to having an ‘authentic’ rifle, finding a truly ‘original’ M1, or finding the parts to restore one can be very expensive and would tend to deter the owner from shooting it.

The M1/M14 sights are about the easiest sights to zero on any rifle out there. Just take your rifle to a 100 yard range, put on 8 clicks, zero the windage mark and see what happens. Bet you'll be on paper, a couple miner adjustments will put you in the X Ring at 300.

2024年1月24日 · The M1 I used for this experiment was one I purchased from the CMP auction. It is a nice IHC that was marked with “American Legion Post 1181” on the inside foregrip. The main stock had a thick coat of poly finish and the other pieces had less finish.

M1 carbines were banned in New Jersey about 25+yrs ago. Since then have any other states banned them? Funny thing is Plainfield Machine M1 Carbines where built in Middlesex NJ. During the Plainfield riots in 1967 the Plainfield Machine factory was broken into. Forty Six M1 Carbines were stolen and only about a half dozen were recovered.

That is what I was expecting with the M1. Thanks for the education. 2022年1月9日 · Palmetto State Armory thru its Nodak division announced at SHOT Show it will be making a H&R semi auto M16A1. They had a sample at SHOT. They are also intending to make H&R M1 Garands with forged receivers. When they purchased H&R, they received H&R's Technical Package for M1 Garand production.
