Photodegradation - Wikipedia
Photodegradation is the alteration of materials by light. Commonly, the term is used loosely to refer to the combined action of sunlight and air, which cause oxidation and hydrolysis. Often photodegradation is intentionally avoided, since it destroys paintings and other artifacts.
Photodegradation of organic micropollutants in aquatic …
2023年3月1日 · Photodegradation plays an essential role in the fate of OMPs, particularly in the surface layer of water bodies, where solar irradiation (i.e., UV and visible light) are abundant during the daytime, thereby inducing direct and indirect photolysis of OMPs.
Photodegradation and photostabilization of polymers, especially ...
2013年8月23日 · Photodegradation of polystyrene in air causes discoloration (yellowing), cross-linking, and chain scission due to oxidation. A photodegradation process was also proposed on the basis of the IR spectrum of the photoirradiated film, which indicated the formation of peroxy radical and hydroperoxide intermediates.
Photodegradation - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
Photodegradation is a process in which polymers can be decomposed by absorbing energy from light to generate free radicals. In the presence of oxygen, it is also called photooxidative degradation.
Photodegradation in terrestrial ecosystems - Austin - 2024 - New ...
2024年9月11日 · We will highlight recent advances of our understanding of how solar radiation can affect litter decomposition in terrestrial ecosystems, through the photochemical degradation of plant polymers as well as the consequences for biotic decomposition and C cycling and storage.
Photodegradation - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
Photodegradation is the process by which the absorption of photons—particularly those with wavelengths in the UV–visible spectrum—causes a molecule to degrade. During the process, the species evolve and turn into new ones.
Photodegradation of carbon dots cause cytotoxicity
2021年2月5日 · Photo-induced production of hydroxyl and alkyl radicals play important roles in CD degradation as affected by temperature, pH, light intensity and wavelength.
Photodegradation of Polymers: Physical Characteristics and …
The most important feature of the book is the physical interpretation of polymer degradation, e.g. mechanism of UV/light absorption, formation of excited states, energy transfer mechanism, kinetics, dependence on physical properties of macromolecules and polymer matrices, formation of mechanical defects, practics during environmental ageing.
Photodegradation - SpringerLink
2015年11月27日 · Photodegradation concerns the breaking of a molecule to smaller molecules (degradation and/or mineralization) by means of the absorption of photons of suitable wavelength such as that found in the infrared radiation, visible light, and ultraviolet light of the solar spectrum.
