The new info here wasn't the only way to get plant species X seeds, it was a new source of them for anyone who doesn't want to go to the swamp

For ARK Mobile, a current bug will sometimes prevent the plant from fully maturing despite having enough water and fertilizer (However if you watch the plant through the growthling to the fruitling phase it will grow).

It isn't like the auto turrets keep the plant X safe from grenades and rocket launchers and the plant X ensures that things nearby have trouble approaching and save the auto turret from wasting unneeded ammo.

A combined approach works well too; fill them halfway up with stone, and add some species y traps when you gather crystals. You can then feed half stacks, or 1.5, 2.5 stacks etc to slightly reduce consumption. But ofc the best is to fill their inventory with species y for max loot..
