It is still poor practice in my opinion, as specifying the number of places removes ambiguity. As for symmetrical parts, any qty question is answered by the symmetry mark on the centerline.

2008年4月25日 · You may even use TYP 5 PLACES as a local note (make sure you call out the number of PL)as long as it is clear. It is a good practice to have seperate drawings for L.H. & R.H. to document say tooling changes on one that may not be needed on both drawings ,(tool hole etc.)it just gives you better control of Drawings.

2006年4月20日 · THRU - I'd say necessary when it's not otherwise obivious that the cut/hole goes thru the entire part. I'm perhaps a bit generous in my use but having been the idiot searching a drawing for the hole depth only to finally realize it was a thru hole I use it a lot.
