I think its safe to assume that if Rei Hiroe doesnt include new characters outside of those from the Lagoon and other cartels the interest of the series is gonna die quickly after.

2023年4月20日 · Season 2 is followed by Roberta's Blood Trail and then the manga picks up after that with Volume 10 (Chapter 77). There are also two semi-canon light novels. Black Lagoon's author says another season of the anime is possible but he writes so damn slowly these days that it'll probably be years before anything happens.

Black Lagoon's story is ongoing and is a darker, mature series. Cowboy Bebop was mature, sometimes dark, depending how you see the themes, but not as dark as Black Lagoon.
