2017年4月11日 · I used flat black Rustoluem spray paint on the raised white letters on the tires of my 50 one year so I could get into the Vintage Torquefest, (no white letters were allowed and I wasn't taking off nearly new tires for the show). 4 or 5 years later, about 1/2 the white letters are white again, after letting Mother Nature do her thing.

2017年4月20日 · You should be able to buy a quart of 100% black acrylic house paint at your local paint store,not automotive. The acrylic stays flexible and will expand and contract as the tire goes through heating and cooling cycles,warning regular latex will not hold up.

2015年6月1日 · Krylon makes a paint for rubber and plastic that works to spray whitewalls on black walls so I am sure if you bought it in black it would work the other way. Funny thing but it was common to see white walls turned in on cars when I was a kid and whitewalls were starting to loose their popularity, even open wheel cars.

2023年8月28日 · The raised black lettering was simple. No taping or rubber cement surrounding the lower surfaces. For those that were “non steady” in the paint brush lettering, rubber cement was perfect. Paint on the lower tire rubber and whatever over marks dripped onto the rubber cement, easily rolled off after the whole lettering process was finished.

2017年4月11日 · I used the M.E. Miller Tire Co. Tire black tire paint 3 yrs ago and can't tell it ever was a whitewall. Also used on a set of Mickey Thompson tires that had the brown sidewall look from age on my T Bucket made them look better than new. This is some great stuff .

2009年8月29日 · Like he said, only I run a 1/2" masking tape around first. If you get some overspray on the tire it comes off with lacquer thinner and you don't have to get up close to the fresh paint. Someone mentioned the tire machine chipping paint; not with the new machines! They grab the wheel from behind and spin it, the tool never touches the face.

2010年11月23日 · Ranger tire paint,is what i used on my 60 ford and held up nice.one of the tires started to crack a little and i just touched it up they look great.What i did was paint under the skinny white wall that was there and ya cant realy tell,the key is to spend some time clean and sand them real good,its cheap if you dont have the money for whites ...

2023年9月14日 · I’ve been using black leather shoe dye. Comes in its own applicator bottle. Tires mounted with the X white lettering to the inside of course.
