2006年8月19日 · Brazing SS is not like brazing mild steel. If you overheat SS you will lose it's corrosion resistance, and getting the filler to wet against the SS will require a special flux to remove the surface oxides. Silver is required as an alloying element in the brazing filler. You haven't been very specific at all about your application.
Brazing or Soldering Aluminum to Stainless Steel
2008年8月2日 · A friend of mine has a project he's working on where some aluminum has to get joined to stainless steel. I read on the AWS website that this is possible. I did a bit of google searching, but had a hard time finding what techniques, fluxes, and filler metals I need for the job. I'd prefer brazing over soldering, but I'm interested in either.

2013年3月25日 · A friend suggested the silver solder with flux, but wasn't sure if just butane torch would provide enough heat- steel is only 3/16 thick, but I could use O/A if that would work better (don't want to blow through the metal, either). As for the AC with silicon brazing rod, Ive never used it and am not sure of the procedure.

2008年10月17日 · Unless I can find a flexible stainless pipe (length 10") with ID ends of 2 3/8ths, I am probably going to try to use the 2 1/2 ID flexible pipe and do the best I can sealing it by brazing. If anyone knows where I can purchase a flexible exhaust pipe 10 inches long that is 2 3/8th ID, I would appreciate you pointing me to the source.

2002年9月4日 · Brazing will work, too. It requires the rod, flux, and oxy/acet equipment. Many times I've seen novice welders use the brazing technique, unable to recognize when they were getting co-hesion. Brazing is a co-hesive process, not a fusion process. You have to stir it up as your moving along a joint. [B]

I had join copper pipe to an air fitting but could not find my safet-silv 45 So I tig it with Aluminium bronze...what would another option of rod that will work well in this application? welding or barzing spring steel torsion springs
Basically I am shortening some leaves and just need to hold them in position while i reassemble. once in position the are clamped in place. The question is will the welding brazing cause a local stress area or affect the spring qualities of the steel? the leaves are aroun 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick. regds shaky

2005年2月26日 · You can also buy brazing rods that are precoated with flux. You need a heat source that can heat the sheet metal up to a dull red hot. I've only brazed with oxyacetylene, so I really don't have any suggestions. I'm sure propane or mapp would work, but it will depend on the size of the torch and the part you are brazing.

2006年5月30日 · I will braze fill the existing pin holes and add a patch panel on top of the existing sheet for added strength. I'm thinking of brazing it in place thoroughly. By drilling small holes in the 8" x 10" patch I can flow braze between the 2 sheets of steel and eliminate any air gaps between the existing floor and the patch giving additional strength.
