We have a forum section devoted to batteries and electronics (your post should go there) and if you look at the CR123A Shootout thread there are comparisons between lots of brands of batteries. The Surefire cells may be a few percent better but Energizers come out fairly good. Welcome to CPF by the way.

Regular lithium ion will be 3.7 volts (4.2 max.) and lithium iron phosphate will be closer to 3 volts and a better direct voltage replacement to a disposable CR123A cell with poorer power density but potentially more cycle life.

The voltage from 2x 16340 = 7.4v where the combined voltage from 2x CR123A = 6.0v. A significant difference for a bulb. The LED of the new Pelican M6 2390 can handle the 7.4v. LED are more sensitive to current change, not voltage change.
