2016年12月13日 · They were never making pixel art for its own sake, they were making art which, due to limitations of the day, needed to be done in pixels. Bomberman is played basically on a grid; You could argue that pixels count when dodging, but the characters are simple and the hitboxes are coarse.

2022年9月25日 · You’re starting too big. First, try making pixel art by 16x16 pixel resolution and work with a pre-made palette. Also, try following some YouTube tutorials. Looks like you just started drawing without a skeleton or framing or anything — recipe for chaos. Start smaller, work in incremental steps, follow guides and learn by mimicking.

Completely disagree. I have found pixel art becomes more work exponentially faster as resolution increases. It's far more work to make something in pixel art in 720p then it is to just use 3D models at that point. I have had to do that. The amount of work directly relates to the product.

2023年2月16日 · honestly a lot of pixel art characters have a blank and impassive face, one of my favorite characters I ever made and worked with was just [o_o] hold off on trying to animate legs for now IMO, it's one of the harder of the important animation skills.

2018年9月25日 · If you're making something like a brawler or a beat-em-up you'll probably want bigger characters. My best advice is don't get obsessed with doing your artwork before you have a game prototype. Build something basic just using coloured rectangles, and you can keep changing the sizes until you find what works right.
Question for pixel art experts: what canvas size for beginners?
2020年6月25日 · I think it's fine to use whatever size you want as long as you can still clearly see the pixels and you respect pixel art rules (jaggies, anti aliasing, etc). I've seen pixel art done at 480 x 640 px before for landscapes for example. If you don't want to do 16 x 16 px, you don't have to! I've never done anything that small either.
