Do Sumps have a real place in planted aquariums?
2023年2月22日 · Some translate beautifully as universal truths. Others just don't seem to be ideal for that particular discipline. I'm feeling my way through the modern approaches to planted aquarium. I posted in photography forum an aquarium that was state of the art way back. heated substrate and all! It worked but later proved to be un-necessary.

Does anyone run a planted tank without a filter?
2016年11月14日 · I have a heavy heated planted 55gal tank which used to be hooked up to a 20gal sump. I have approx 60 community fish (Platty & Tetras). It's also a deep substrate with 1" nutrient filled soil & 3" sand capping. Another note is that the tank is about 2 1/2 years old and I've never vacuumed the fish waste out.

2015年5月18日 · Okay so I am confused. I was told by someone that I should have 0 phosphates in a planted tank. Then I read somewhere else that I should have between 0.5- 2.0 ppm. The reason that I ask is that I am dealing with green spot algae and diatoms. I fear raising phosphates will contribute to diatoms but lowering will increase GSA.
