Rough Lumber in Connecticut - Woodworking Talk
Jul 27, 2010 · I found these just searching on the internet awhile ago. I've found a few websites for sawmills in CT, but none of them can come near to this price. Nobody near me can beat bonesteelmillandmolding though -- by far the best prices I have seen: $.90 for poplar and $1.60 for cherry. I'm considering having hardwoods like cherry shipped for that price.

A dam was built to create the pond and the water flow used to power a grist mill to grind grains. Then after a series of owners, it was used as a machine shop.

I did try to register at the forestry forum, but they seem to be a "closed community." I guess I will see if I am accepted. Doing a search on there proved ineffective.

When we got off the highway and onto a dirt road with no signs of life, I started to joke with my wife about "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Wrong Turn".

Advice on waterfall edge after glue up | Woodworking Talk
Nov 7, 2024 · I just did a not so greatest glue-up . I had someone help we with jointing my boards. We laid everything flat on a even table and it looked good. The person that helped me stated that I should not need to run the boards through a planer. After I did the glue up, I noticed a little bit of cupping. The most being 2.5MM in one corner.

Oct 24, 2011 · If you can't picture it let me know and I'll take a pic for you. The bag mil is enough that it will not tear apart even when full of wet osage dust. It will start to drag the ground as the cuts get lower and bag gets fuller, but you can lay down a trap and weigh it at each end and the ground won't rip it apart.
Any Wood-Mizer owners in here - Woodworking Talk
Dec 13, 2013 · Before buying the Wood-Mizer, I met up with Tim Cook of Cook's Sawmills when he delivered a 36" mill in Springboro, OH and watched it run while he did the training. I also visited a Baker reference near Lawrenceburg, IN while he sawed a 36" butt dia red oak log. Dude was in over his head and really didn't know what he was doing.
