A yacht is being tracked along a straight path using a radar. The shortest distance of the yacht to the radar and to the path is given. Calculate the velocity components of the motion in the r and theta vector directions and hence calculate rdot (dr/dt) and thetadot (dtheta/dt) in units of m/s and rad/sec respectively. A scaled velocity diagram can be used to help with your working out.
